Occupational Therapist – Nanaimo, BC
PlayWorks Therapy is always seeking passionate Occupational Therapists (OTs) to join our pediatric team in Nanaimo, BC. We provide therapy services to children with diverse needs, supporting their development and helping them reach their full potential.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
-
Eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
-
Eligible for the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP)
-
Experience working with children and youth in pediatric settings, preferably with diverse developmental needs
-
Current First Aid and CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain)
-
Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to obtain)
-
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to family-centred, strengths-based, and evidence-informed practice

Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community-based services
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing services in homes, schools, daycares, and community settings
-
Experience supporting children in the areas of sensory processing, self-regulation, motor development, feeding, executive functioning, and autism is considered an asset.

Experience supervising or collaborating with Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) is considered an asset
-
Experience with standardized pediatric assessment tools and report writing is considered an asset.

Occupational Therapy Assistant – Nanaimo and Victoria, BC
PlayWorks Therapy is seeking enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) to join our growing pediatric team in Nanaimo and Victoria, BC.
As an OTA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to support children in achieving meaningful developmental goals through play-based, individualized intervention in home, school, daycare, clinic, and community settings.
Required Qualifications:
• Current First Aid and CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently while following direction from a supervising OT
• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills
• Ability to engage actively with children during play-based, gross motor, and community-based activities
• Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Availability to travel throughout Nanaimo or Victoria, and surrounding areas as required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Education Assistant (EA) or Special Education Assistant Certificate
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate or Diploma
• Degree in Kinesiology, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Rehabilitation Sciences, or a related field
• OTA diploma is an asset but not required
• Experience with children diagnosed with autism, developmental disabilities, or other support needs
• Experience implementing therapy, educational, behavioural, recreational, or skill-building programs for children
• Knowledge of sensory processing, self-regulation, motor development, executive functioning, and play-based intervention approaches
• Experience collaborating with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
• Passion for supporting pediatric clients in achieving developmental goals
• Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with children
